Niels Dabelstein

Positions
Niels Dabelstein chairs the Management Group of, as well as he is head of the secretariat for the International Joint Evalutation of the Implementation of the Paris Declaration.

Throughout his career Niels Dabelstein has worked with evaluations of and knowledge about development projects on a global scale. As head of the Evaluation Department of Danida's Evaluation Unit, which is an independent department within the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he has created the state-of-the-arts evaluation guidelines and improved methods for impact and poverty evaluation.

He has, among other things, initiated and led the Joint Evaluation of the International Response to Genocide in Rwanda in 1994 and seconded to the World Bank's Evaluation Department to work on methods for impact evaluations and evaluation of social dimensions of aid. He has also worked for UNIDO as adviser within the field of economic analysis of environmentally sound utilization of natural resources.

Besides lecturing at Copenhagen School of Global Health, Niels Dabelstein serves as external examiner at three other Danish Universities and he is also a lecturer at the World Bank/Carleton University International Program for Development Evaluation Training in Ottawa, US.
